It seems strange that with the advent of modern technology that is designed to save us time, we end up having less time. We condition ourselves to always put work and family commitments ahead of our own needs.

By no means is this necessarily a bad thing. Indeed, caring and nurturing others is essential to the human condition. However, at what point does this generosity begin to impede on our own health and well being?

We are told from governments, health experts, fashion magazines and celebrities that to be happy we must look a certain way. Be careful not to put on too much weight as this can lead to increased risk of stroke, Type II Diabetes, cancer etc etc. The list is endless. Yet at the same time we are told to not obsess over our physical looks as this can lead to diseases such as anorexia and bulemia.

It is no wonder then, that there has been an increase in the number of childhood cases of both anorexia and obesity.

Poor body image combined with confusion over who is the expert will just lead to chaos.
